New gravel bike from Fara with an innovative cockpit!

With the Gr4, Fara Cycling rolls out the fourth generation of its gravel bike, built for ultra-distance epics as much as for punchy race days. The aim is clear: stop forcing riders to choose between speed and comfort. Unveiled in Oslo, this new model leans on nearly a decade of real-world feedback, with convincing showings at events such as The Traka, Badlands, and the Transcontinental Race.

In a market that loves to hyper-segment, Fara takes the opposite tack with a single platform that adapts to different styles of gravel riding – without compromise. On the spec sheet: a 970 g high-modulus carbon frame, a modular cockpit, and geometry built to last.

A gravel bike with a very broad remit

The standout trait of the Fara Gr4 is its multi-faceted brief. Where many brands split ranges by use case (racing, bikepacking, exploration), Fara goes for universality. And on paper, the balance looks spot on.

The geometry stays balanced, with a 405 mm reach and a 590 mm stack in size 56 – a solid middle ground between agility and stability. Chainstays are 425 mm across all sizes, which helps the bike feel responsive.

The carbon frame uses Toray T1000 and M40X fibres, known for low weight and controlled stiffness. The result: over 200 g saved on the frame alone versus the previous generation. Add a redesigned fork, seatpost, and cockpit, and you’re looking at close to 500 g saved overall.

But the weight saving doesn’t come at the expense of versatility. The Gr4 clears tyres up to 57 mm, features multiple mounts for racks, mudguards, or bottles, and integrated storage in the downtube. The frameset is UDH compatible and uses a threaded T47 bottom bracket.

The modular cockpit (included with all builds) lets you adjust both bar width (360 to 440 mm) and stem length (80 to 130 mm) to suit your handling preferences. It’s also compatible with clip-on extensions for long-distance efforts.

What we think at Gravelpassion.fr

On paper, it’s hard to spot a major weakness in the Gr4. The bike ticks many boxes: performance, comfort, adjustability, finish. What we particularly like is how coherent the project feels. Nothing has been left to chance, whether for racing or heading out self-supported for several days.

We also appreciate the brand’s transparency: no empty watt-savings claims. Instead, a genuine, long-term approach backed by feedback from athletes racing the biggest events on the gravel calendar.

What could give pause, however, is the relatively high entry price: €5,200 for the frameset alone. But at this level of finish, and given the market’s premium tilt in 2025, Fara remains within the norm.

This Gr4 targets a demanding audience – riders who want a bike that can go fast yet is up for adventure. Clearly, if you’re after one gravel bike to do it all – and your budget allows – this model deserves serious consideration.
