Canyon presents the new Grizl with a one-of-a-kind cockpit

A few days after the launch of the Canyon Endurace Allroad for under €1,000 and an e-bike under 10 kg, Canyon continues to innovate. A new version of the Grizl has just appeared on the German brand’s website.

Canyon’s Grizl CF 2025 slots neatly into the ever-growing gravel segment. With the market booming, Canyon keeps refreshing its line-up to meet the demands of two-wheeled adventurers. This model leans heavily into adventure, with pricing from €2,399 to €7,999, positioning the Grizl CF as a strong option for gravel and adventure riders.

Canyon Grizl CF Escape & ECLIPS: a well-equipped companion

You quickly notice the Grizl CF has a new carbon frame. The multiple mounting points for bags and racks reveal its focus on adventure and long-distance riding. Some builds are also equipped with a “Full Mounty” cockpit, optimised for ergonomics in varied conditions, and a Shimano GRX mullet drivetrain, known for its reliability and performance on all kinds of terrain. DT Swiss gravel wheels complete the package.

A frame that says yes to big tyres!

With 54 mm of tyre clearance, the new Grizl is ready to tackle pretty much any terrain. Wide tyres are particularly effective on uneven surfaces, ensuring great stability even in muddy conditions.

You can see that this new Canyon Grizl features internal storage, just like on the Canyon Grail.

The Canyon LOAD FidLock MidLoader bag integrates neatly with the frame, as it’s been designed specifically for the Grizl. Its attachment and removal are extremely simple thanks to a dedicated magnetic mount, giving direct access to the storage space inside the Grizl’s down tube. This clever design provides room for an inner tube, tyre levers and a CO2 cartridge in a rattle-free pocket, while a mini multi-tool (included) and a pump can be placed in an easily accessible compartment in the down tube.

A version with a dynamo hub?

You can spot an ECLIPS version made up of five main elements:

  • The dynamo: SON 29 S model, very efficient and streamlined.
  • The battery: a Lupine Smartcore Fastclick battery with a capacity of 3,500 mAh.
  • The lighting system: a Lupine Nano SL front light with three adjustable beams and a Lupine C14 rear light, both compliant with STVZO standards.
  • The USB-C port: it works for both input and output, allowing you to charge external devices and recharge the system itself.
  • The BlackBox: managed by Canyon’s BlackBox system, it routes power exactly where it is needed.

ECLIPS operates with high efficiency and minimal noise. At 20 km/h, you can power the lights in ECO mode, keep the system topped up and ride without limits. This system is among the most rigorously tested components Canyon has developed, withstanding extreme temperatures from -40°C to +70°C in climate chambers and resisting direct blasts from pressure washers, meeting IPX6 waterproofing standards.

And a suspension model too?

Remember? A few weeks ago, Canyon presented the Grail RIFT. Now it’s the Grizl’s turn.

The partnership with DT Swiss to develop the F 132 One fork promises to transform your off-road experience. Thanks to the Rough Is Fast setting, supple sensitivity is achieved with just 40 mm of travel, reducing body fatigue on rough terrain and letting you fully enjoy every descent. On all Grizl models equipped with RIFT, the forks feature mounts for bikepacking, carrying up to 3 kg on each side, along with an ergonomically optimised remote lockout – an exclusive feature among suspension options for gravel bikes.

Its claimed weight is 9.94 kg for the Escape build and close to 10 kg for the standard CF 7. The higher-end CF 9 w/ ECLIPS weighs just 8.8 kg.

Available in several colours including “Pineapple Gummy”, “Lavender Gelato” and “Birch Wafer”, it combines style and versatility.

What is ECLIPS technology and why choose it?

ECLIPS is a system designed to simplify power supply for accessories such as lights and dynamo hubs. Unlike older solutions, there’s no need for a separate connector to remove the wheel, nor complex wiring. The central unit manages power distribution and optimisation, and can evolve via updates.

It varies, but as a guide, a SON 29 dynamo can recharge a modern smartphone in about 1 hour 15 minutes at 20 km/h. That means you can power a rear and front light in eco mode without drawing on the main battery.

Correct. To maximise tyre clearance (up to 54 mm / 2.1 in), the frame is designed exclusively for 1x drivetrains.

Yes, an appropriate bracket is available as an aftermarket option. You can install it with a 1 1/8 in headset.
