The Michelin Power Gravel is a versatile gravel tyre designed to alternate between tarmac, fast tracks, farm lanes and forest trails. In this 700 × 40C version, it was set up tubeless and ridden for over 1,000 km.

Construction and setup

The finish inspires confidence, with sturdy sidewalls, uniform knobs and a tread that pairs tightly spaced centre knobs with more pronounced shoulders. It goes on by hand without tyre levers, but seating the beads may require a tubeless inflator tank.

On-trail behaviour

The Power Gravel is reassuring and predictable. It offers good grip in the dry and the wet, confident braking, and a natural transition between tarmac and trails. Rolling efficiency is solid, even if it isn’t the liveliest under acceleration.

Pressure and comfort

The tyre feels firm at higher pressures. Testing found a better balance around 1.8 to 1.9 bar, with greater comfort, better vibration damping and a more natural, composed ride.

Our take

The Michelin Power Gravel convinces above all with its robustness and composure. After more than 1,000 km, there were no punctures, no cuts and only very limited wear. It suits riders looking for a reliable, versatile tyre rather than a model focused purely on speed.
