The Reserve 42|49 TA is a 700c carbon road wheelset built for fast, versatile riding, pairing a 42 mm front rim with a 49 mm rear.
It runs modern internal widths of 25.4 mm front and 24.8 mm rear, with external widths of 34.4 mm and 32.1 mm. Reserve recommends 29 to 40 mm tyres, making it a good fit for contemporary road builds, including rougher tarmac.
The 42|49 TA sits as the most balanced option in the Turbulent Aero range. It targets long rides, fast training, rolling terrain, and endurance or performance road bikes.
In our long-term test, the Reserve 42|49 TA delivered very good stability, a straightforward tubeless setup, and dependable reliability. The ride is on the firm side, so it is better suited to a sporty rider than someone prioritising comfort.
The Reserve 57|64 Turbulent Aero is a performance-focused carbon road wheelset, built for racing, fast rides, hard pulls, and any use where speed truly matters.
This wheelset uses a staggered profile with a 57 mm front rim and a 64 mm rear rim. The goal is to keep the front wheel more manageable in crosswinds while leveraging a taller rear for aerodynamic gains.
This version is aimed mainly at riders who go fast, do hard group rides, or want a stable aero road wheelset.
Our long-term test highlighted very reassuring stability for such a tall profile, along with a clear sense of inertia at high speed. The 57|64 remains a demanding wheelset, more at home on a performance bike than on a comfort-focused build.
