The Zipp 454 NSW is a 700c carbon disc-brake wheelset designed first and foremost for high-performance road riding. Its wavy Sawtooth profile, hookless tubeless rim, and ZR1 SL hub place it at the top end of the American brand’s lineup.

A distinctive aerodynamic profile

The 454 NSW uses a carbon rim with variable depth from 53 to 58 mm. This wavy design, combined with Hyperfoil features and the HexFin ABLC pattern, aims to optimize aerodynamics while maintaining stability in crosswinds.

At a claimed 1,400 g, the set remains light for a deep-section wheelset. Zipp also indicates a 30 g saving compared to the previous generation.

Hookless rim and 28 to 35 mm tires

The rim uses a hookless profile with a 23 mm internal width. It is compatible with 28 to 35 mm ISO/TSS tubeless tires, with sealant or inner tube depending on the setup.

Zipp recommends a 28 mm tire to target the best balance between aerodynamic efficiency and rolling resistance. The stated maximum pressure is 5.0 bar, which should be verified according to the tire used and rider weight.

Hubs and compatibility

ZR1 SL hubs use hybrid ceramic bearings and offer 66 points of engagement. The brake interface is Center Lock, with lockring included.

The wheelset is offered with SRAM XDR or SRAM/Shimano Road freehub bodies. The Campagnolo body is available separately. 12 mm front and rear end caps are supplied.
