Orbea unveils its first gravel race bike!

In the gravel world, a quiet revolution is underway with the arrival of Orbea’s Terra Race. This high-end model is built for riders who prize performance and speed across mixed terrain. As demand for lightweight, aerodynamic bikes keeps growing, the Terra Race lands as a direct answer to those needs.

A design honed for speed

The Terra Race stands out first and foremost with its ultra-light OMX carbon frame. Weighing just 910 g, it is designed to turn every watt of power into pure speed. This technical feat is complemented by a 425 g carbon fork, optimised for tyres up to 45 mm, providing the essential versatility needed across different gravel surfaces. The geometry, inspired by the Orca, has been adapted for gravel, ensuring a riding position that maximises aerodynamics and high-speed stability.

Every component has been selected to serve that brief: from the OQUO RP50LTD carbon wheelset to OC components shaping an aero, ergonomic cockpit. Orbea also prioritises adaptability, letting you choose between 1x or 2x drivetrains and customise every detail to meet the rider’s specific requirements.

A promise of speed and comfort

We find that Orbea’s Terra Race manages to blend low weight, stiffness and adaptability without sacrificing rider comfort. The weight reduction, without compromising stiffness, delivers blistering acceleration, while the rear triangle effectively absorbs vibrations for smoother rides.

However, its race-focused design may not suit gravel riders looking for a model more oriented towards comfort and versatility over long distances. For that, Orbea offers the Terra.

The Terra Race is aimed primarily at riders who actively compete or who want to push their limits on demanding courses. If the goal is to perform and shine on race day, this model is a serious contender.
