Garmin is launching the CIRQA Smart Band, a screen-free smart band designed to track health, sleep, and daily activity without adding a full watch to your wrist.
The positioning is interesting: announced at €199.99, available to order from July 24, and above all integrated into Garmin Connect, the ecosystem already used by many cyclists.

On paper, Garmin clearly targets low-profile use: no screen, no visual notifications, no mapping, no traditional multisport watch. CIRQA sits in the background and collects data.
That is precisely what can make it relevant for cycling.
On gravel as on the road, many riders already use a GPS bike computer on the handlebar. Adding a watch during efforts can quickly become redundant, especially when the goal is simply to monitor heart rate, recovery, or sleep.
The CIRQA Smart Band fits that logic: a lightweight, unobtrusive, screen-free band that can keep measuring continuously without replacing the computer.
The most interesting cycling feature is heart rate broadcasting over ANT+ to compatible Garmin devices, notably Edge computers. In short, the band can act as a wrist-based heart rate sensor to display HR during the ride.
It will not necessarily be as precise or as responsive as a chest strap in every use case, especially for very high-intensity intervals, but the upside is clear: less gear, less friction, more continuity in your data.
The CIRQA is not trying to replace an outdoor watch like a Fenix. It has no screen, no built-in GPS, no mapping, no advanced navigation.
Next to a Garmin Fenix 8 AMOLED, the approach is far more minimalist. Where the Fenix concentrates display, sport profiles, navigation, and outdoor features, the CIRQA focuses on passive tracking and syncing.
It is less spectacular, but potentially more coherent for a cyclist who wants to keep their Edge as the control center during efforts.
Garmin announces a very low weight: 14.8 g for the module, around 20.7 g to 21.2 g including the band depending on size. The strap is ComfortFit fabric, with a fiber-reinforced polymer case.
The CIRQA brings much of Garmin’s health ecosystem: continuous heart rate, resting heart rate, abnormal heart rate alerts, stress, Body Battery, HRV status, skin temperature, advanced sleep tracking, sleep score, nap detection, and training readiness.
You also get a Pulse Ox sensor, optionally usable all day and during sleep, as well as women’s health tracking and past ovulation estimates. Garmin reminds users that these features are for wellness purposes and do not replace a medical device.
The band is rated for up to 10 days of battery life, 5 ATM water resistance, and iPhone / Android compatibility via Garmin Connect.
The CIRQA Smart Band offers a wide range of activity profiles, including cycling, road, MTB, gravel, commute, bike touring, e-bike, or indoor trainer.
But note an important point: GPS is connected only. To get a track and distance/pace data outdoors, the band relies on your smartphone’s GPS.
Garmin highlights operation with Garmin Connect and use without a mandatory subscription. That matters, especially versus some competitors like Whoop that tie part of the experience to a subscription.
But to be precise: several features listed on the product page are associated with Garmin Connect+, including certain guided workouts, Garmin Coach strength/fitness, live activities, or some nutrition and AI features.
The most accurate reading is this: CIRQA appears usable with core features via Garmin Connect, but not everything is necessarily included without a subscription depending on the advanced use cases you want (as is already the case for current devices).
The Garmin CIRQA Smart Band lands in a strategic segment: discreet, continuous, screen-free health tracking without trying to replace all the devices already present in an athlete’s ecosystem.
The product also has obvious limits: no built-in GPS, no screen, no navigation. It is not a mini-Fenix. Nor is it a bike computer.
But precisely because of that, if it is comfortable to wear day and night, the CIRQA could take a very logical place in the Garmin ecosystem: a discreet sensor for those who want data without wearing a big watch all the time.
