Decathlon unveils two new bikes for touring!

It’s neither an out-and-out road bike nor a pure gravel bike, but Rockrider – renowned for its tough, modular touring builds – is back in the spotlight with the launch of two new models: ADVT 900 and ADVT 920. Aimed squarely at adventure-focused riders, these bikes fold in the latest user feedback to deliver improved performance and quality components at a price kept in check.

Two new models

The Rockrider ADVT 900, built around a triple-butted aluminium frame, is a dependable companion for long trips that demand carrying capacity and rock-solid reliability. Fitted with a sturdy DT Swiss HU1900 wheelset and a Shimano Cues 2×11 drivetrain, it promises durability and efficiency. Its Shutter Precision dynamo hub paired with a Cycle 2Charge USB charger provides power on the move.

💡 Note that to get meaningful charge from this type of dynamo, you need to be pedalling at least 21 km/h.

The Brooks B17 Imperial saddle and Herrmans ergonomic grips help keep comfort high, even over the longest distances.

The Rockrider ADVT 920 is aimed at bikepacking adventurers looking for a lively, adaptable bike for off-the-beaten-path expeditions. It features a Shimano Deore XT 1×12 drivetrain and DT Swiss HGR 1800 wheels, offering lower weight and a touch more snap.

Shimano Deore XT hydraulic brakes deliver the stopping power needed for long expeditions, while the Brooks C15 Carved saddle and 55 mm Vittoria Terreno XC Race tyres round out this build for a smooth, enjoyable ride.

Finally, both bikes feature 33 mounting points, allowing a range of configurations. Note that these two models are offered exclusively with a flat bar.

Both models address specific needs: the ADVT 900 for long, fully loaded journeys, and the ADVT 920 for those looking to venture into more remote regions with a lighter, more dynamic bike.

Riverside (Rockrider) manages to blend tradition and innovation, with a design that evokes the spirit of adventure, sporting graphics such as a wild goose on the ADVT 900 and an ibex on the ADVT 920.

Technical specifications of the ADVT 900 and 920

The ADVT 900 weighs 17.1 kg in size M and supports up to 170 kg, with significant load capacity on its front and rear racks. The bike also comes with Schwalbe Marathon tyres and aluminium mudguards for weather protection.

By comparison, the ADVT 920 is noticeably lighter at 11.8 kg in size M, with a load rating of 140 kg – ideal for riders seeking low weight and agility on their rides. Each model is available in four sizes (S, M, L, XL) and comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame, fork and stem.

Price and availability

Price-wise, Decathlon is positioning these in a fairly premium segment for a touring bike. Priced at €1,699, the ADVT 900 still offers good spec-for-price value, even if you have to make do with mechanical disc brakes.

By contrast, for €300 more (€1,999), the ADVT 920 brings a slightly more refined drivetrain and, crucially, hydraulic braking, along with a notably lower weight.
