PSI ⇄ Bar converter for bikes

PSI / Bar Converter

Whether you ride road, gravel, or MTB, tire pressure always comes up. And to make things trickier, some speak in PSI (pounds per square inch) while others use bar. This mix of units can quickly cause confusion, especially if your pump or gauge shows only one scale.

Our PSI ⇄ Bar converter lets you switch instantly between units, no mental math needed, with rounding to one decimal place for extra precision. Whether you run tubeless tires, inner tubes, or tubulars, this tool is designed to help you inflate your tires to the right pressure for better comfort, performance, and safety.

How to convert PSI to bar (and vice versa)?

The conversion between PSI and bar is based on a fixed factor: 1 PSI equals about 0.06895 bar. To convert PSI to bar, simply multiply the PSI value by this factor. For example, 60 PSI is about 4.14 bar. Conversely, to go from bar to PSI, multiply the bar value by 14.5038. Thus, 5 bar is about 72.5 PSI.

These numbers may seem abstract at first, but with practice (or thanks to our built-in converter) you’ll save time and avoid mistakes when inflating your tires.

PSI or bar: which unit should you use?

The choice of unit often depends on the equipment you use and where you live. PSI is the standard in English-speaking countries, especially the United States and the United Kingdom. If you buy tires, pumps, or gauges from US brands, it’s likely the markings are in PSI only.

In Europe, bar predominates, and most gauges and compressors use this scale.

Today, many pumps and tools display both units, but knowing the conversion remains essential to avoid any confusion when making your adjustments.
